Leading supplier of school safeguarding and visitor management solutions SG World will be attending The Academies Show in Birmingham on 28 November demonstrating best-selling electronic visitor management solution VisIT ED and school asset and inventory management software AudIT.

“We’re very excited about exhibiting this year at The Academies Show,” Communications Director Steve Floodgate said. “SG World’s solutions can be found helping academies across the country to manage their busy reception areas with a modern software solution or meet their obligations in the Academies Financial Handbook to keep track of their assets.”

SG World will be exhibiting at Stand 185 and giving away chocolate-filled Advent Calendars. Throughout the day SG World’s electronic solutions specialists will be on hand to demonstrate AudIT school asset and inventory management software and provide more information about SG World’s supporting asset discovery services. AudIT is a user friendly web-based solution specially designed to help schools track and manage their physical and software assets and create an asset register covering everything from laptops, desktop computers or printers, to software licenses and even tables and chairs. Academies which use AudIT have an accurate register of assets and their values, with up-to-date records stored securely offsite.

The comprehensive program ensures academies have an accurate asset register for insurance, control and resource planning purposes. The Arnewood School, a mixed mainstream academy in Hampshire, has used AudIT with success. Deputy Headteacher Nigel Pressnall said: “The easy to navigate interface disguises the underlying complexity of an application that is not only effective as an asset management tool, but also as an expert system guiding school leaders towards sensible purchasing decisions. Storing all the information in one database makes it easy to see what hardware and software is well catered for and what is lacking. We can use this information to make carefully considered decisions on what equipment we need to invest in for the future.”

In addition to the hosted asset management software, SG World also offers schools an onsite asset discovery service, which leaves them with a fully populated asset register set up in AudIT upon completion. Annual reviews and discovery are also available, helping to support academies with their responsibility to manage and control their valuable ICT assets and infrastructure.

Also available are demos of VisIT ED, a fully customisable electronic visitor management system with an optional touchscreen. VisIT ED has become one of SG World’s most popular products for schools seeking a modern and clutter-free reception area. The software’s intuitive design makes it a favourite for office managers and head teachers seeking to easily keep a reportable record of all visitors, and staff, in and out of their site at any time. The touchscreen module further automates the process, allowing visitors to check themselves into a school or college.

University Academy in the Dingle, Merseyside, has used VisIT ED since June 2012. Serving pupils aged 11 – 18, and with a busy sixth form, VisIT ED has helped them to manage traffic in their busy reception area and to keep track of who is on site – visitors, staff and students alike. “We use it to generate passes for our regular visitors such as music teachers and support workers, which really cuts down on reception administration,” Lesley Barber, Administration Systems said. “It’s also flexible enough to let us get a fast and accurate view of parental and guardian visit history against individual pupils.”
