SG World's French Exchange Student, Chaima Hossenally, will be bringing you some bespoke articles for the next few weeks on her thoughts on Health & Safety, Visitor and Contractor Management and Inspections across the industry.

646,000 people had an accident at work in 2012-13. This same year, the UK counted 150 worker fatalities. These figures could upset employees, however they are decreasing daily. The number of worker fatalities accounts for less than half the number killed 20 years ago. Even today, in this mid-year, there is still a drop, with data revealing that 133 workers were fatally injured between April 2013 and March 2014.

HSE (the Health and Safety Executive), a national independent regulator, exists with the aim of reducing work-related death and serious injury across Great Britain. By setting up the 1974 Health and Safety at Work Act, companies have to respect some rules to make their workplaces safe.

Following to these new regulations, several companies have seen a new thriving market. Lots of them specialize in Health & Safety, enabling the UK to become one of the European countries where work accident rates are the lowest. Among them, SG World offers a large range of customizable products. The firm creates prevention and safety products in paper and software versions in order to help other companies to be compliant with HSE directives.
