As the UK slowly returns to some semblance of normality post COVID, what did you do this weekend? Maybe a pint at the local, maybe a socially distanced cinema outing or lunch with friends? Well Mark Haase competed and completed in the Leeds Tri, clocking a solid 3 hours 24 minutes.
The AJ Bell 2021 World Triathlon Leeds represents the pinnacle of triathlon competition in the UK, taking on the three elements of swimming, cycling and running. The Leeds event is part of the World Triathlon Championship Series, a fantastic opportunity to see the very best in the sport, including Olympic, World and European champions. This year’s series began in the Japanese city of Yokohama on 15 May and culminates in the Championship Finals in Edmonton, Canada on 21-22 August. Over four thousand spectators gathered in Roundhay Park to watch round two of the event.
Setting the bar high, Mark is already looking forward to the next challenge: “This was my first Tri of 2021 and boy does the time reflect it, but finished in one piece and box ticked. Onwards to Birmingham!”
