Once again SG World is celebrating its people's drive and commitment with its Long Service Awards. As a longstanding tradition, colleagues from across the company gather on the factory floor and machines are switched off to recognise and applaud the contributions of our long serving employees.

This month eight individuals jointly clocked up an impressive 110 years of service and experience.

This months awardees came from both ends of the spectrum with relative newbie Jackie Devine celebrating her 5 year anniversary, whereas SG World veterans Steve Brayford celebrated 15 years, Paul Buckley celebrated 20 years and John Davis celebrated 25 years. Wow!

However top of the affectionally named 'tufty club' was John Nolan, who has clocked up 40 years service! John gave a short speech explaining his love for his job, our values, the company ethos and the great people who he gets to work with every day. Well said, John!

Another special mention must go to Sam Herring and Ann Healy, who celebrated 5 years long service and Norman Bedingfield, another impressive tufty club member who celebrates 35 years!

Unfortunately Sam, Ann and Norman couldn't be with us to celebrate on this occasion but their long service and dedication is hugely valued by the company. Thank you everyone!

SG World already has an enviable record when it comes to staff retention. Over twenty-five percent of SG World employees have over twenty years of service under their belts and the company has cracked a thousand year milestone by achieving a combined 1242 years total service. Employment statistics like these helped SG World pick up a 'One to Watch' award in the 2016 Best Companies 'b-heard' survey; the UK's biggest employment engagement survey.

"It's a great workplace tradition and I always enjoy these gatherings," said Mark Haase, SG World CEO. "It's a chance for us all to step back and say a big thank you to the individuals who make up the backbone of SG World."
