Congratulations Darren ‘Daz’ Cogger, Digital Print Manager, our winner of Employee of the Month for January 2019!
Daz started his journey with us as a Pre-Press Apprentice back in 2006 with SG World sister company The Printing House. Over the years, Daz has impressed with his dedication, hard work and skill, progressing from his apprenticeship role to his current position of Digital Print Manager.
Daz is a very deserving winner, not only for what he’s accomplished over the years, but specifically for achievements that he has made in the last month. His diligence and keen eye have resulted in some complex and highly valuable repairs being made to our print machinery – a crucial undertaking enabling SG World and The Printing House to continue to operate at full potential.
Naturally, any large organisation with even larger machinery will encounter some technical ‘hiccups’ from time to time. This month, Daz has dealt with some problems that arose in a quick, calm and positive manner. He juggled his day-to-day role whilst working with our third party engineers and repair companies to fix the machinery, whilst ensuring that all our customers’ work was completed and delivered to them on time.
If these outstanding achievements weren’t enough, recent feedback from a Ricoh engineer was that Daz is one of the ‘best operators in the country that he has seen, because he takes care and pride in the way that he works which sets him apart from others’.
As a die-hard Crewe Alexandra fan, we think that Daz must live by Crewe’s motto of ‘luvare non impedire’, which we understand to mean ‘progress rather than obstruct’. However, a little bird also tells us that on a night out, Daz loves nothing more than a lovely peach schnapps cocktail after a few pints. We’re sure that this is just what he needs after a busy day being an outstanding member of staff!
Congratulations Daz – you really deserve it!
