Exploring Common Misconceptions about Ofsted's Role in Safeguarding

Sean Hartford, Ofsted National Director, has recently blogged on Ofsted's role in inspecting school safeguarding, exploring some common misconceptions.

He reminds us that Ofsted doesn't set the guidance themselves, their job is to inspect whether schools are following the DfE's statutory guidance. Ofsted inspectors do not use templates or checklists, or promote specific methods but they do look for evidence that a school is promoting a positive safeguarding culture where children come first.
